My writer buddy, David Jay Collins (@davidjaycollins on Insta!), and I heading to a street festival to sell books.

Hello from Vacation Town!

I’ve been doing book coaching as a part-time profession for a bit, but I decided early on that I would firmly set a boundary during summers. June-August would be for my own writing and rejuvenation time.

As I write that, I can hear a phantom Boomer in my head saying, “Entitled millennial with your VACATIONS and ME-TIME!” But, tbh, Phantom Boomer doesn’t have the power he used to.

That being said, I’m really glad that I took the time. I was pretty lazy, but I accomplished some business tasks, explored new ideas, and I did actually make progress on my next novel.

There were also some things I learned during my “time off” that I wanted to share with folks because I think they are genuinely interesting.

So, here we go.

Top Takeaways from My Blog Vacay

#1: On AI

I feel like I have been inundated with webinars about AI. We live in a manic historic moment where people are basically saying “Embrace AI or it will put you in a cave and become your overlord in the next 10 years!”

Most of the things I have seen have been…well, garbage… But one AI site did blow me away.
