5 Inspiring Quotes from Rick Rubin’s The Creative Act

Quick Download: I read Rubin’s new book and found it to be a really cool experience. I pulled 5 quotations that were especially meaningful to me during this read-through.

Before getting into the quotations, I want to say that reading this book was a different experience from reading other creativity books. Generally, the others have arguments or a thesis, whereas Rubin’s book felt more like a stream of knowledge. There are tons of ideas and philosophies baked into the content, and I would continually read something, stew on it, then awake two pages later to another idea. I feel like I could read this ten times and highlight new passages on each read.
That being said, the five below are the ones that were most resonant during this read. I can’t wait to come back to it in a year and see what new concepts pop out.
